Readers Postcard Set
Readers: Varieties and Mannerisms Postcards
Set of 9 postcards, one each variety, printed from my original watercolor and ink illustration of nine varieties of readers and their strange habits.
Each set of 9 postcards is wrapped in black tissue paper and secured with decorative tape. Each card measures 4.25x5.5".
These postcards are the perfect way to add a bit of color and whimsy to your home, or to give as a gift to a bookworm friend!
A little bit about our readers:
Fig. 1: The Family • This variety of reader can be found surrounded by loved ones, two- or four-legged.
Fig. 2: The 21st Century • A modern, tech-savvy species of reader, this variety can often be spotted in coffee shops or waiting for the bus in the morning.
Fig. 3: The One More Page • This elusive variety of reader can be located by calling “are you done?” late at night and following the soft replies of “just one more page” until you find the reader nestled in a chair, having read many, many aspirational last pages for the evening.
Fig. 4: The Multitasker • While this variety of reader is often found listening to endless audiobooks, they nevertheless require a steady diet of paper books to supplement their intake.
Fig. 5: The Serial Starter • This variety of reader can be difficult to spot, since they are often hidden behind precariously piled towers of half-finished books. So many books, so little time.
Fig. 6: The Missed My Stop • This reader can be found on busses and trains, or easily spotted in airports, blissfully unaware of the passage of time.
Fig. 7: The Rotisserie • Through careful observation, this variety of reader can be seen rotating slowly as they read, always looking for a more comfortable spot. Plus, it’s almost like exercising.
Fig. 8: The Flashlight • Only appearing late at night (or very early in the morning) this type of reader requires a steady supply of flashlight batteries, books, and cozy blankets. Bedtime is more like a guideline than an actual rule anyways.
FIg. 9: The Cuppa Tea • This elusive species of reader has a propensity for collecting half-finished mugs of tea while immersed in her reading. Approach with caution, she’s very focused and easily startled.
